Whether you were for Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, Twitter was definitely a major player in the 2012 election.
During election night, Twitter said that the number of conversations got as high as 327,000 *per minute*. Even with this large load on their servers, Twitter remained up and running (i.e. no crashes) the entire night.
